Harley-Davidson Middle East and Africa have recently launched the Western Cape Experience tour in South Africa – a seven-night trip which includes a five-day ride experience aboard the ultimate Touring machine – the Harley-Davidson® Electra Glide® Ultra Limited.
The 1,000-mile route couples stunning scenery with carefully selected high quality accommodation that represents the Harley-Davidson lifestyle and shows visitors some of the best experiences that the Western Cape has to offer.Harley-Davidson UK and Ireland are offering customers a discount of £500 off the tour cost for a single rider and an additional saving of £120 of the cost of a pillion travelling with the rider. To qualify for this discount customers must book a demo ride online by visiting www.harley-davidson.co.uk.

The demo ride should be taken at an authorised Harley-Davidson dealership before 28 February 2010.The Official Harley® Authorised Tour has been designed for Harley® riders by Harley® riders with extensive experience of touring rides and knowledge of South Africa. The tour begins in Cape Town with dinner and an overnight stay at the Fire and Ice Protea hotel before the first day of riding to Oudtshoorn – the largest wine producing district in South Africa and the Ostrich capital of the world. Visitors will stay at the Buffelsdrift Game Lodge where there will be an opportunity to see their resident elephants.

The third day takes in miles of coastline, historic fishing villages, the Outeniqua Mountain Pass and indigenous Knysna forests en route to Arniston to stay an internationally renowned 4 star luxury spa hotel. Day four takes riders to the most southern tip of Africa where the Atlantic and Indian Oceans join before retiring for the night at a romantic getaway in the world famous Cape winelands. Le Franschhoek Hotel offers unparalleled views of the Franschhoek Mountains.

Day five takes the Harley-Davidson riders through the historic Bainskloof Pass, winelands, fruit farms and fields to Bushmanskloof to a lodge voted the number one hotel in the world. Riders can relax among the breathtaking landscape ahead of a final day of riding to return to Cape Town for a final night at the Fire and Ice Hotel, where a farewell dinner will be hosted. The Harley-Davidson® Electra Glide® Ultra Limited provides items only previously offered as accessories to make it the new king of touring and the perfect motorcycle for this trop.

The Twin Cam 103™ powertrain provides more touring torque, teamed with ABS Brembo® brakes and six-speed Cruise Drive™ transmission for a comfortable ride, while the exhaust system is designed to minimise heat exposure.Generous luggage capacity, a power supply and an advanced audio system ensures that riders and passengers are well catered for.

Additional luggage can also be accommodated by a support vehicle and a professional English speaking tour guide is provided for the guided tours on the trip. Fuel, oil, insurance, transfers and parking fees are also covered to provide peace of mind. Breakfast and dinners are also included, which is sure to be a treat as South Africa is famous for both its meat and its seafood.

Prices, including £500 rider discount, start at £1,885 for travellers making their own way to South Africa and £2,750 including flights. Pillions, with discount, can travel for £1,834 or can enjoy the package for £1,342 if they make their own travel arrangements to and from South Africa.Riders are expected to take their own protective clothing and helmet, but information can be provided by Rider Services and Harley-Davidson UK dealers stock a wide range of suitable MotorClothes®, including the all-weather FXRG functional riding gear.
