oodles of street cred comes as standard with these extremely popular boots from Sidi, the Vertigo is perhaps one of their most popular ranges often found on the feet of not only high level racers but joe public too.

Street styled race boot

Initial Thoughts

Whenyou open the box of the Vertigo boots you are instantly met with astunning looking boot, no doubt about it - they look the dogs danglies!

Allof the finer details look carefully thought out, the vents on the outeredge of the boot works well and is not flimsy meaning it will flip openwhen you want it shut, the external armour appears to be be welldesigned and the general styling of the boot is very nice indeed - verySidi.

Construction

As I believe is nowstandard in Sidi boot design, the upper is made of Lorica which isTeflon coated for additional protection against the elements, the soleis non-slip and the inner is made of a perforated lining which stopswater and sweat being absorbed into the boot. On the outside you will find the Tecno VR Closing system which gives you 5cm's of adjustment on the calf.

Whilewearing these boots I initially felt very comfortable, they were alittle bit too tight around my wide fitting feet but only so much thatI could describe them as 'snug', they didnt feel like they would pinchtoo much. However as the day got warmer and my feet began to expand asthey do naturally the boots felt quite oppressive around the toe end, every where else was a superb fit and as an added bonus they fittedover my leathers courtesy of the Tecno closing system, something thatother boots have struggled to do.

Apart from the fact my feet areclearly too wide for this size the Vertigo's felt very plush, walkingin them was not a chore and they allowed full movement, now being thecheeky so and so I am I stopped off somewhere for a coffee to try onthe next size up in these boots just to see they were a better fit allround. They were not.

The next size up, a size 11 in the UK wereloose all over and the perfect width for my feet, with this in mind Ibeleive that if you have narrow or regular feet the Vertigo's are wellworth a look in, if however you have slightly wider feet such as me,you may struggle in warmer weather. If they bring out a wider fittingversion of this boot or the Corsa I know exactly what I will bewearing.

These really are race boots for the street, superbly styled and packed with safety techno gizmos and gadgets the Vertigo is a sure fire winner for anyone looking for quality and race pedigree.

Although those of use with wider feet may find issue in warmer temperatures they were very comfortable to walk and ride in and they felt very well made. For £165 they are easily worth their money and its no wonder they have sold in their thousands.
